Henry
"Harry" Maden (1879 -
1918)
Henry
emigrated to Canada from England after leaving the British army
(Ten years service in the 2nd Battalion East
Lancashire's), becoming a citizen.
Some years
later during WW1 he was conscripted (possibly joined) the
Canadian Army. 1001174, 44th
Bn., Canadian Infantry (New Brunswick Regiment). Henry died, age 39, on 08 October 1918, (the war
would end the following month), from injuries sustained the
previous month in action.
(The 44th was in the 10th Infantry Brigade of the 4th

Husband of Sarah Maden (Shanks), of 61, New Line, Bacup,
Lancs, England. (Sarah had left Canada with her son Eric to stay
with family while Henry went to war, she never returned)
