James Baxendale survived the war even though he
was injured and was in hospital for a period of
time. Sometime after this he was also taken prisoner
and remained a POW until repatriated, his service
record is complete and makes a very interesting
read, including a hand written letter from his
mother in regards in the injuries he sustained and
the seriousness of them, and their lack of feedback
and information in regards to them.
Another Baxendale who had a rough time during
WW1, but this one survived.
